HYPOTHYROIDISM

Hypothyroidism, The Unsuspected Illness by Broda Barnes, M.D. This is a classic text. It was one of the first published works outside of mainstream medicine that highlighted hypothyroidism as a generally poorly diagnosed illness. In the book are general descriptions of the condition, the improvements that are often noted, appropriate paperwork and graph work to help analyze your own body\'s temperature and, to some degree, self-diagnosis of low thyroid function.

The Thyroid Solution by Ridha Aren, M.D. This book tends to focus primarily on the mind-body connections with thyroid function in addition to the larger issues of thyroid interaction not only from a psychiatric perspective, but from the larger perspective of total body wellness. It is a current book, excellently written, by a well-known endocrinologist. It is available at most book stores, such as Border\'s and Barnes & Noble.
