Candida Albicans
Candida Albicans
What Is It??
Candida Albicans is the result of yeast overgrowth. Yeast is a type of fungus. Of the many types of yeasts, Candida Albicans is a stubborn fungus that thrives in moist, warm body areas such as the intestinal tract and vagina. Everyone carries this yeast in the intestinal tract, which is why it is difficult to diagnosis. Because you have numerous, friendly bacteria, and your immune system is strong, you are able to keep the yeast under control. When an antibiotic is taken it not only knocks out the “bad guys” but also destroys the good bacteria as well. Then the Candida yeasts multiply. As a result, these yeasts put out toxins, which can weaken the immune system. This overgrowth of yeast may also contribute to what is called “leaky gut”. Leaky gut is an intestinal inflammation, which allows undigested food particles to pass through the colon wall into the bloodstream, where they are treated as foreign invaders, causing an allergic reaction. Candida Albicans can become an enemy bent on sickening the whole body.
